The Tasqyn information system will help prevent emergencies and make forecasts for strategic decision-making. It is being developed by the Ministry of Digital Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Ecology, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Ministry of Water Resources.
To date, a methodology for forecasting and modeling floods has been prepared and approved. According to this methodology, authorized bodies input data into the information system, such as water levels in reservoirs, volumes of water discharge, and hydrometeorological forecasts. Based on the collected data, the system models possible flood scenarios.
The Tasqyn information system is expected to be launched by the end of this month.
“The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation regulates the accounting of operational and forecast water management balances for the timely distribution of water, analysis, and adjustment of water resource usage regimes in reservoirs and water management systems.
It should be noted that forecasting water discharge is crucial for taking urgent measures to regulate water releases from hydraulic structures and to reduce the burden on the environment under unfavorable hydrometeorological conditions,” said Aslan Abdraymov, Deputy Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation.
