"Next year, we intend to put it up for liquidation because it cannot go on indefinitely. The government has already had to finance two waves of investors from the budget; we have faced this issue twice.
Citizens must understand that this is a contractual relationship between you and the construction company. If you fail to fulfill your part, for instance, if you cannot make a payment, the government does not cover the costs for the construction company on your behalf. The same applies if the construction company you have a contract with is unable to complete the project - the government is not obligated to finish these buildings.
Therefore, every citizen entering into such a contract, starting shared construction, must realize that it is crucial to approach this matter very carefully. These are significant sums of money," - stated Akim Zhenis Kasymbek.
He added that some construction companies struggle with this business; some do not complete residential complexes not out of a desire to deceive, but due to an inability to cope with the changing market.
"Therefore, we do not plan to finance the resolution of these issues directly in the future. However, we understand that force majeure situations may arise. In such cases, we will take other measures, but there will be no direct financing of construction from the budget," - the Akim stated.
It was previously reported that by the end of this year, construction is planned to be completed on eight more residential complexes that have been long overdue in Astana.
It has also been revealed that the issue with two additional long-overdue projects in Astana has been resolved - the residential complex "Territory of Comfort-1" (second phase) and "Zhagalau 4." As the city head noted, the construction of the "Territory of Comfort" residential complex began 20 years ago.
Over the past few years, more than 140 long-overdue residential complexes have been completed. The long-awaited keys to apartments have been handed over to more than 15,500 families of investors.
