According to the official Telegram channel of the company, the Karazhar site is a sub-structural Permo-Triassic trap located on the eastern flank of the Caspian sedimentary basin. The geological structure of the site is similar to the operating field "Karatyube South."
The drilling of the first exploratory well in the exploration block is a significant step towards strengthening the resource base of the Aktobe region.
Under an enhanced model contract that offers regulatory and fiscal preferences, the subsoil use of the site has been transferred to "KazTurkMunai" LLP.
The company noted that "KazMunayGas" is accelerating geological exploration activities. In 2024, the company launched several major projects, including the drilling of deep wells in the Kyzylorda and Atyrau regions. These initiatives aim to promote the socio-economic development of the regions and support Kazakhstan's oil and gas industry.
It was previously reported that there are plans to extract oil and water from a unique source of clean water in the Aktobe region. From time to time, ecologists, prosecutors, and public activists raise the issue of the need to preserve the source and remove oil wells from Kokzhide. However, some specialists argue that the elimination of the wells could be even more dangerous than their presence.
Additionally, it has been revealed that a company in Mangistau has been fined for extracting oil and gas in the region without an environmental permit.
