The official website of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan mentions that Serik Zhumangarin was born in 1969 in Aktobe.
He graduated from the Moscow Energy Institute named after Lenin and the October Revolution, the Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov, and the International Academy of Business.
He began his career in 1993.
From 2013 to 2014, he served as the Vice Minister of Regional Development.
From 2014 to 2017, he led the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies and Protection of Competition at the Ministry of National Economy.
From 2017 to 2019, he was the Vice Minister of National Economy.
From 2019 to 2020, he held the position of Minister for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the EEC.
From 2020 to 2022, he served as the Chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition.
From 2022 to 2023, he was the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Trade and Integration.
On February 6 of this year, Zhumangarin retained his position as Deputy Prime Minister.
Previously, by the decree of the Head of State, Baibazarov Nurlan Serikovich was relieved of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
