According to the official Telegram channel of Akorda, at the invitation of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, will visit Astana on December 18 for an official visit.
During the high-level talks, the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres will be discussed.
It is worth noting that in late October, a phone conversation took place between the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, during which they exchanged views on pressing issues on the international agenda. The Head of State invited Umaro Sissoco Embalo to visit our country for an official visit at a convenient time.
Later, in November of this year, on the sidelines of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the leaders of Finland and Guinea-Bissau, as well as with the Crown Prince of Kuwait.
At that time, the President referred to Guinea-Bissau as one of Kazakhstan's significant partners on the African continent. He also reaffirmed Astana's commitment to strengthening friendly ties and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.
Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan is an open country following a peaceful policy and possessing the largest economy in the region. He highlighted that promising opportunities for partnership are opening up for both countries.
According to Tokayev, despite the geographical distance, Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau can develop cooperation in the fields of agriculture, logistics, and information and communication technologies.
