Almaty's mayor announced that since 2022, funding for the "Participatory Budget" program has increased by 2.6 times, resulting in the implementation of 938 projects.

According to him, all these projects are implemented under the "Public Participation Budget" program, where residents actively engage and propose their ideas for improving the city.

"We have set an annual limit for project implementation under the PPB at 17 billion tenge. For the first time, up to 200 million tenge is allocated for the maintenance of previously implemented PPB projects for each district," said Yerbolat Dosaev.

As part of the program, new pedestrian and waterfront zones, parks, children's playgrounds, and improved courtyards are being created from abandoned areas of the city.

The Almaty city administration reminded that since 2022, the funding for the "Public Participation Budget" program has increased by 2.6 times, and the number of submitted projects has risen by 5.7 times, highlighting the high engagement of citizens and the program's effectiveness as a tool for city development.

In 2024, under the "Public Participation Budget," district akimats implemented 364 projects. For the next year, the implementation of over 300 projects aimed at improving Almaty is also planned, with a budget of 17 billion tenge. The highest number of projects will be carried out in the Alatau district (50) and the Almalinsky district (45). A list of projects approved for implementation can be found on the Open Almaty website.
