Car production in the UK decreased by 30.1% in November compared to the same month last year, totaling 64,216 units, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). This was reported by Interfax-Kazakhstan.
Consequently, nearly 85% of the cars produced in Britain were exported, with more than half of the exports (52.3%) going to European Union countries.
Last month, the country produced 19,165 electric vehicles and hybrids. This figure represented a 45.5% decline year-on-year, and the share of these vehicles in total production was 29.8%.
From January to November, car production in the UK fell by 12.9%, amounting to 734,562 vehicles. This is 108,000 fewer than the same period last year and nearly half a million less than in the pre-COVID year of 2019, as noted in the SMMT report.
