In the Mangistau region, large investment projects are underway for the production of "green" hydrogen and the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 50 MW per day. This was announced by Akim Nurdaulet Kilybay at a briefing in the Service of Central Communications, as reported by a correspondent from the Kapital.kz business information center, referencing the press service of the Akimat.
According to the Akim, the wind power plant "Sarkylmas Kuat," which will be built in the village of Munayshy in the Karakiyan district, is planned to be commissioned in 2025. The project, costing 13.474 billion tenge, will occupy an area of 45.5 hectares. It consists of 8 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.25 MW. A workforce of 120 people will be involved in the construction, and 15 permanent jobs will be created during the operational phase.
In Zhanaozen, a hybrid power station utilizing renewable energy sources is planned for construction. The electricity will be generated by a solar power plant with a capacity of 50 MW (75,000 units), a wind power plant with a capacity of 77 MW (11 units), and a gas piston power plant with a capacity of 120 MW. The construction period is set for 2024-2026.
A project for the production of "green" hydrogen will be implemented in the region.
“As part of the project for the production of "green" hydrogen, implemented by the German company Svevind, a desalination plant, renewable energy stations (wind and solar) with a capacity of 40 gigawatts, and an electrolyzer with a capacity of 20 GW will be constructed. This will enable the production of 2 million tons of "green" hydrogen or 11 million tons of "green" ammonia annually. An investment of 50 billion euros will be made in the project, creating 3,500 jobs during construction, and 1,800 permanent jobs will open during the operational phase. The project is expected to be fully operational by 2030,” said Nurdaulet Kilybay.
