By the decree of the head of state, Serik Makashevich Zhumangarin has been appointed as the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This was reported by the press service of Akorda.

Serik Zhumangarin was born in 1969 in Aktobe. He graduated from the Moscow Lenin Order and October Revolution Energy Institute, the Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov, and the International Academy of Business.

From 1993 to 2004, he engaged in entrepreneurial activities.

In 2005-2006, he served as the Deputy Head of the Department of Economy and Budget Planning in Aktobe; Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship in Aktobe.

In 2006-2007, he was the Deputy Head of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation of Natural Monopolies for the Aktobe Region.

In 2007-2008, he held the position of Head of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation of Natural Monopolies for the Aktobe Region; Director of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation of Natural Monopolies for the Aktobe Region.

In 2008-2010, he was the Deputy Chairman of the Trade Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Trade Development Department; Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC “Kazakhstan Contract Agency.”

In 2010-2011, he served as the Deputy and First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC “National Agency for the Development of Local Content ‘NadLoc’.”

In 2012-2013, he was the Director of the Department of Regional Policy and Interbudgetary Relations of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Chairman of the Committee for Regional Development of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2013-2014, he served as the Vice Minister of Regional Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2014-2017, he was the Chairman of the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies and Protection of Competition of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2017-2019, he served as the Vice Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2019-2020, he was a member of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission on Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation (Minister).

In 2020-2022, he served as the Chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2022-2023, he was the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On September 2, 2023, he was appointed by presidential decree as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On February 6, 2024, he was appointed by presidential decree as the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
