Almaty Airport is not accepting aircraft from 20:45 to 23:00 due to adverse weather conditions. This was reported by the press service of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"From 20:45 to 23:00 on December 20, the Almaty city airport will be temporarily closed for the arrival of aircraft due to worsening weather conditions," the statement says.
Currently, 9 flights are delayed for departure from Almaty Airport, 12 flights are delayed for arrival, and 2 flights are canceled.
According to the Civil Aviation Committee, visibility in the area around Almaty Airport is currently 200 meters, wind speed is 5 m/s, with heavy snowfall and fog.
"Flight delays are occurring to ensure the safety of passengers. Delays on Friday may lead to the rescheduling of other flights, so passengers are advised to check the status and departure times in advance with the airline and airport information services," the Civil Aviation Committee appealed to passengers.
