In the first half of 2024, Mangistau welcomed around 250,000 tourists from various regions of Kazakhstan and foreign countries. This marks a 30% increase compared to the previous year. The volume of services provided in the tourism sector grew by 40%, totaling 6.6 billion tenge. This was reported by the akim of Mangistau region, Nurdaulet Kilybay, during a briefing at the SCC, as stated by a correspondent from the business information center Kapital.kz, citing the press service of the akimat.
He reminded that the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has revised the master plan for Aktau and instructed the implementation of investment projects in the "Warm Beach" area. A master plan for the regional center has been developed, and by 2027, 11 investment projects worth 100 billion tenge are planned to be realized in the region. This year, three projects have been launched with a total value of 8.5 billion tenge.
"In accordance with the president's instructions, a master plan for the resort area 'Kenderli' has been developed. A tourist city will be built in the region, capable of accommodating up to 300,000 people annually. Construction of the engineering infrastructure has commenced. The implementation of the project will provide employment for the residents of the city of Zhanaozen," said Nurdaulet Kilybay.
Additionally, next year, the "Zhylandy" cape in Mangistau region will be improved as a tourist destination, and a visitor center will be constructed along the Beket-Ata road.
